ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION
For this project, juniors and seniors must use the skills they've acquired in the IA to open up their own business that serves a need in our community and provides value. It's a course that we've borrowed from Babson College in the US. This year, the students have decided to open up businesses around tea, music, fashion and even stickers. All of the profit earned goes to funding Habla Roosevelt-a program that teaches English to our workers' children every Saturday.

PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITIONOverview/Purpose: What does it mean to have depth? Research, write, capture a moment or know a topic in depth? These are the questions at the heart of the first unit 10th graders explore in the IA.
The purpose of this project was to investigate and understand an issue that was affecting our community (in this case Lima, the capital city of Peru) and to raise awareness about it through a photo exhibition. By looking closely at the chosen problem, the goal consisted of using critical thinking skills to delve deep into the heart of the matter and convey it to the audience. Depth was a recurring theme in this project, since we delved deep into the principles of photography and sharpened our descriptive writing skills.
